They let anyone into this place
"I have certain rules I live by. My first rule: I don't believe anything the Government tells me, Nothing. Zero." - George Carlin
Good evening all,
Last Friday I took off a bit early and took The Wife out on a bike ride. Unfortunately, I didn’t get any pictures of her. She took a bunch of me. I will spare you the trauma of having to see too many of those.
We ended up finding the fly-fishing Mecca for Missouri on our ride. It’s in a place called “Rockbridge”. Biggest trout I have ever seen. Gorram huge. Like 6 pound huge. I guess back in the olden days Rockbridge used to be a town, complete with a mill, a post office, and a bank that I guess Jesse James “visited”. I asked if “visited” meant “robbed”…they don’t know, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say “yes it does”. I mean its Jesse James. Nowadays Rockbridge is a resort. Actually pretty nice. I took The Wife there for lunch.
I squeezed our bikes in between the Range Rovers. So…there we were sitting in the corner stinking in our riding gear enjoying smoked trout. She had a salad, and I had a sammich. And of course, a beer. Because you know….Friday.
The warrior poet Ice Cube would agree that the day was indeed good, as it did not require the use of an AK. The food was awesome! the service is great. The company however, leaves something to be desired. I didn’t realize that they let anyone into this place. We were getting the eye from Judge Smails. It turns out that we may not have been quite Bushwood enough for him. Fuck ‘em. We had a great time.

If you are ever in the area, I do recommend you stop by.
Anyway……
We finished the install of the wood stove in the shop today.
Yes, I know it’s a soft roof boot. It’s a high temp rated boot…so it’s kosher. I have been running the stove for about 4 hours now, just to get all the stove paint cured. The stove paint tends to smoke a bit when curing, so it’s better to do this with the doors open. Just in time. It was in the upper 40s this morning, and it’s supposed to hit the 30s a couple of times next week. The weather change is here.
In preparation for my upcoming slaughter of Bambi I started making my own ammo the other day.
I’ve been picking up the bits and pieces to do this for a few years now, and finally got the last bits a few weeks back. One of these days I’ll get around to making a decent reloading bench. In the mean time I can start to build up a custom load for “killdeer”. +10 points for anyone who can tell me where “killdeer” comes from without having to google it.
I expect to have Bambi in the freezer soon.
This may be one of the final peppers out of the garden this year. The Youngest Boy took the picture.
Small, but at least it’s homemade.
That’s about all this week. I’m sure I’m forgetting something, but oh well. Here is your meme.
