Live, Laugh, Lethal: The Blog Finale Pt. 2
"Every new beginning comes from some other beginning's end." - Seneca
Welcome to Season 2.
So…
A lot has happened since we last met.
I replaced the radiator in the truck the day before last week’s blog went live. The day after the blog went live I had another “unscheduled vehicle maintenance” issue. I had to replace the drivers side front wheel bearing assembly. Yay. It went relatively smoothly, and I was back up and running Friday afternoon. I went ahead and took apart and re-did the 4 wheel drive hub assembly too, ‘cause it really needed to be done. The truck seems to be running much smoother now. I figure I will have to schedule the passenger side this summer too. That was money that I definitely needed to spend.
Last Friday I ended my contract with Glorious Peoples Tractor Factory #25. At the moment I am now jobless. I was a bit surprised at how things went down (especially after 13 years), but I guess business is business. I have an interview with Glorious Peoples Tractor Factory #26 tomorrow. We shall see how it goes. Wish me luck, if you are so inclined.
Life goes on. Later that day we did a bit more planting, that is FarmDog© and I.
The garden may be needed a bit more this year. I was putting in onions, we have about 300 to put in this year. They are a 2 year crop so they won’t be ready this year, but some of the ones I put in last year will be. I also put in the last of the potatoes. I planted in some bush beans to fix nitrogen in the soil and to help provide food soon.
On a lighter note, we were able to wrap negotiations with FarmDog© and her agent last week. She will be joining us for season two. Her agent provided us with some glamour shots that I am contractually required to post. Here they are.
The agent feels that the “action” shot of her romping with her jollyball makes her seem approachable to the regular people - like you.
It’s prime severe weather season here in the upper south / lower midwest. We have had two storms of note in the last week. I guess tonight’s storm is a doozie. Luckily for us the sun never came out today to destabilize the atmosphere here. We got quite a bit of thunder, about 3” of rain this afternoon, and two tornado warnings on the other end of the county - but no touchdowns. The story is a bit different a few hours east of here though.
The kids found this outcropping whist out exploring the other day.
We are likely to go out and check it out one of these days.
Well…that’s about all I have for this week. It’s been a long one and not an awesome one, but things will be OK. The last couple of years have been a hell of a ride and I am happy to have been there for it. Whatever happens we will be alright. The blog is not over. We will continue to post.
I’ve been thinking of this scene for the last few days and it seems an appropriate way to wrap up for the week. Some of you will get it. Some of you won’t.
See you next week.
