"I'm a freaky streaker like Winnie the Poo...t-shirt, no pants, and I dance the boogaloo" - Michael Louis Diamond
One of the things that we (and I mean mostly me) wanted to do once we planted ourselves at the new Casa del Metanfetamina was put up a signpost with different places of significance to us. You know….kinda like this one.
I swear if any of you old people reading this don’t instantly know what that is, I’m revoking your AARP card, and taking away the car keys.
Anyway……I finally got around to it. I made a pole and then started adding a few signs I made out of cedar fence boards I had laying around. Its some of the first router carving I’ve done.
We also started building our “official” outdoor living room / glamping spot. It kinda just started happening last Saturday now that its cool enough to do stuff outside instead of just sweat. We will hopefully start spending time in the evening down there by the fire. Maybe even set up a tent and just stay.
Bezos dropped the solar lights off today. They are actually pretty cheap. There is a little tent site off to the left, and I’m working on a kitchen setup. I’m also considering a little portable projector and a screen up in the trees. We are shooting for a cool little outdoor spot that’s fun to be in. Like an adult treehouse. With power tools. And solar power.
Yes, the fall is finally here. My favorite time of year. Just a little cool in the morning, warm during the day - but with a little chill in the air, and a little cool at night. And not raining. All the gorram time. Like nonstop from September 18th to July 5th - the kind of low intensity rain that after about 15 days or so of a more or less constant heavy mist you begin to think seriously about going to bed and simply staying there until spring……sorry about the rant. It was actually in the upper 40s this morning. The colors are really starting to come out in the trees. It’s quite pretty.
In fact, the weather is just about right for riding bikes.
The Wife and I went for a nice ride the other day, all the way to West Plains. She is starting to stretch the distance she rides. Its good for her, and she is ready for that. I took off work a little early and we bumped up to town to hit a few places we were going anyway, and got home right around the time the kids got home from school.
I’m still doing a ton of little hour-long projects in the shop while we finish getting ready for winter. I’m hoping to get the chimney pipe finished in the shop in the next ten days or so. Just in time for chilly mornings.
I got the new headlights into FarmQuad.
In standard “powersports” fashion I had to take like half the front end off the thing to access the wiring harness. The original lights from 1997 finally shit the bed. As it turns out, I was able to get replacement LED Lights like 10 bucks more than OEM headlight parts. So I went with it. Chopped the harness and soldered in the new fixtures. Good enough for this thing. They are like “leave your shadow on the wall - Hiroshima style” bright.
I am still required to mention that if you buy anything off our Amazon links, we get a kickback - no change in price for you. There - I said it.
Anyway, that’s about it this week. Leave a note in the comments if you people have questions about anything.
Oh wait…hang on a second.
