I am the liquor.

Happy Thursday morning all.
Grab yourself a little drinkie-poo, and we will get this started.
First off, the garden has been getting worked on. Its starting to warm up out here in the Ozarks, so I’m trying to get stuff done before it gets too warm. Its into the 90s for the next couple of days before dropping back down to the seasonal temps. And it’s humid too, thanks largely to The Gulf of Mexico - err…. The Gulf of Nobody Has Been Arrested Yet ….uh…..I mean “The Gulf of ‘Murica”.
So… yeah…. here are some garden pics.
I built one last garden bed in the lower patch, and put in more of the tomatoes there. The eggplant are actually looking pretty good this year, so I have put in three along side the tomatoes that will (hopefully) grow up the arbor. I ended up putting the last of the tomatoes up in the middle bed below where the beans and cucumbers are going. I put in the pole beans and should have the cukes in by the early next week - they jsut need to grow a bit more.
As per usual, I’m mixing last years straw bails into the dirt to make soil that is capable of growing something other than oak trees. Last years charcoal plant mulch is breaking down really nicely and is taking well to the onions, tomatoes, and potatoes. I will have to mulch where I can and add some fertilizer this year, but next season should be OK. I’ll put in a cover crop of some kind of legume to fix nitrogen over the winter
Got the beets into the ground this past week too. Yes, I eat beets. I make a kick ass borscht. I would recommend that y’all try it some time. Not only is it pretty damn good if it’s made well, it’s a good idea to know how to make and eat peasant food. You might need to know how to eat CHEAP one day. Justsayin.
Behold! blueberries, and my pear. Yes, I know it’s just a few and like ONE….but it all starts somewhere right?
I’ve been hard at work on the Hydrotower. If you are a “premium” member, then you will learn how to make your own soon. Here is a sample to tease you.
Later this week, I will be putting up a post for those of you. We will be talking about leather work.
I will also be updating my “special friends” on Project AdventureDog© soon. We are coming up on 45 days of complete autonomous operation. Pony up y’all, I’m trying to get into the lifestyle I want to become accustomed to.
That’s it for the commercial.
In a throwback to earlier posts, We had a little history contest. And we had a winner. At least someone remembers their history. They will be receiving a coupon for a free small drink with lots of ice from Jack in the Box. Congratulations!
I would be remiss if I didn’t mention another historical event that occurred last week. May 8th (or 9th if you are a Russian) was the 80th anniversary of VE day. It’s unlikely that any of you have surviving relatives that were there, but if you do - say thanks. If not, raise a toast to the boys. They earned it.
That’s all I have for this week. Next week, FarmDog© will be back from her sabbatical and will grace this blog with her presence again. Until then, enjoy your memes.
