"There is nothing in the Constitution that says that ordinary citizens have a right to see what we spend tax dollars on" Sen. Elizbeth Warren 1/30/2025
I am using some more “intense” tactics to increase my readership. Specifically, I am planning on taking hostages. What can I say, I’m a cold hearted influencer - anything for a click. Just keep reading, and there won’t be any problems.
If you don’t like this film, I’m sorry but we just can’t be friends. Leave now.
My attorney said that if I hold myself hostage, there isn’t really much they can do to me.
Happy Thursday all!
As I’m sure most of you know, we had a bit of a storm over the last few days. Its cold this week too. Todays high was a blistering 19 degrees. The low for tonight is 0, down to -19 with the wind chill.
Overnight Tuesday we had about 6” of snow. That’s ALOT for here. I don’t think the county actually owns a snow plow. School has been called for the week. We got mostly dug out today. If one wanted to, they could use a leaf blower to move the snow here. Our goal is just to make sure that when it starts to melt we don’t get a sheet of ice in the driveway.
FarmDog© loves it. She loves her some snow. I had to make her come inside a few times to warm up - at least her paws. You will all be happy to know that the weather is forecast to be in the 50s this weekend and the mid to upper 60s early next week. Like I have said before, we live on the line between north and south.
I made a batch of split pea and homemade bread Tuesday night. ‘Cause it was all snowy and shit and I thought it would be like winter warm food - ya dig? I didn’t take pics of my soup, even though I do make everything from scratch…..’cause I didn’t think about it. The Boy recommended that I take a pic of my bread, so here it is.
Standard European loaf. No oil or salt at all in the first rise. Work some oil into your dough during the second rise. Wash with egg and sprinkle with salt. This makes for a chewy bread. Oil in the dough makes bread soft and a bit flakey. Good for pizza dough & it’s the secret for pita - but not in loaf bread.
So the people kinda spoke. Kinda. Last week I ran a poll asking if y’all (all southern and shit) wanted to learn about making fire cider and other natural health elixirs. I received two votes and they were unanimous - we will start a little feature on El Blog de Pato de goma. Expect the first installment, and a sufficiently sarcastic name for this segment soon.
There isn’t a whole lot going on around here that’s picture worthy. We are kinda hunkered down in the Ranch house until the cold snap ends in a couple of days. The Wife crocheted a pair of shoes for a new member of the extended family. The last sentence has been censored, for your safety by the Ministry of Truth. As per normal, they came out fabulous. She is after all, the head of a massive textile empire.
We are also getting ready to do our taxes. Yay.
I mean, at last they are spending it well right? No recent revelations or anything right? Most of us knew they were full of shit, but there was never a way to prove it. Besides, Agent Jackboot is more than ready to “F you up” over his money.
Learn to code, Fedboy.
To be clear: no I don’t think that Elon or OrangeManBad are good humans, but for the moment their interest in taking a flamethrower to the bureaucratic state makes me feel funny in a spot I’m not supposed to talk about.
So….there’s that.
We are looking forward to spring around the Rancho. Plans for the gardens, continuing on Project Adventuredog, and outdoorsie activities await. Maybe I’ll be able to ride my steed in the slush this weekend? We shall see!
That’s all I got for this week. Here are your memes.
Your such a diva dad 😼
